Kirinyaga University dazzles in Chess, Darts, Floorball, Pool, and Athletics at South Eastern Kenya University from 31st Jan – 1st Feb 2026, showcasing skill and determination. Both Men’s and Women’s Chess teams finished 2nd overall, qualifying for the KUSF National Championships. The Women’s Floorball team finished 2nd and the Men’s 3rd, earning spots at the KUSF National Championships. Despite challenging matches, the Darts and Pool teams gained valuable exposure to strengthen skills and competitive confidence.

KyU athletes displayed resilience in the World University Cross Country trials, with Aaron Mutai narrowly missing a podium finish, demonstrating promise for future competitions.

On behalf of the KyU fraternity, the Office of the Vice-Chancellor and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (ARSA) congratulate all teams for their commendable performance at the KUSF Central Games, reflecting the University’s commitment to excellence.

2A Games

Kirinyaga University delivered sterling performances at the KUSF Central League 2A Games held at Meru University of Science & Technology (MUST) on January 25 - 26, 2026. The Men’s Tennis team finished second and qualified for the National Championships. The Men’s & Women's Woodball teams both clinched silver and bronze medals respectively. The Hockey, Badminton, Table Tennis, Rollball, and Swimming teams also showed strong performances highlighting the University’s rising competitive edge in sports, showcasing excellence and the strength of KyU sporting talent.

Building on strong performances at MUST Games, KyU is intensifying preparation for the KUSF National Championships strategically positioning the Men’s Tennis, Rollball, and Hockey teams for even greater success.
