The ‘Somesha Comrade’ is an initiative of Kirinyaga University students through the Students Governing Council and with the support of the University Management. The objective is to raise funds to support their less privileged colleagues in raising fees.  The first Somesha Comrade walk will be held on 26th January, 2018 starting at 8.30 am, and will be flagged off at the pavilion.

The Student Governing Council has been very active in mobilizing the Kirinyaga University community to participate in this noble cause. The office of the Dean of Students is calling upon all members of staff and students to support the walk by registering for participation, contributions in cash or kind.


  • Registered participants as at 25th January, 2018: 450 students and 20 staff
  • T-shirts are available at a cost at Kshs. 500/=
